Make your comments, descriptions and community posts stand out with bold, outline and small caps text.
Titles: 100 characters · Descriptions: 5,000
YouTube comments support a little formatting: *asterisks* for bold, _underscores_ for italic and -hyphens- for strikethrough. That works in comments, but titles, descriptions and channel names are plain text. These YouTube fonts fill that gap with Unicode letters that look bold, hollow or boxed and stay styled wherever you paste them.
| Where | Good styles | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Comments | Sans Bold, Small Caps, 🔥 Bold Fire | Stand out in a long thread without looking like spam |
| Description | Sans Bold, ▶ Play Style | Labels like 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗦 and 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗦 help viewers scan |
| Community posts | Double Struck, Dark Square, 🔴 Live Style | Big, bold headers for announcements |
| Titles | One word in Sans Bold at most | Keeps the title searchable (see below) |
YouTube's search reads styled letters as different characters. A title like "𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗" won't match someone typing "how to bake bread". That can cost you views.
If you want a styled title, style a word that isn't part of the search term, like a 𝗡𝗘𝗪 or 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 tag, and keep the keywords plain. Descriptions work the same way: style the section labels, not the sentences that explain what the video is about.
Bold the first few words, not the whole comment. Add a timestamp in plain text (like 4:32) so it stays clickable. Styled timestamps break the link. And avoid stacking several fancy styles together. A comment that looks like an ad tends to get ignored or hidden.
More options for each style: the bold text generator for comment hooks, the double struck text generator for hollow headers, and our TikTok fonts for Shorts captions.
